Working, and occasionally playing in a 400 year old Tyneside fishing pub, Sam’s songwriting and innate character caught the attention of Ben Howard’s manager, which led to solo tour supports with the likes of Catfish and The Bottlemen, Ben Howard, Daughter, George Ezra, Hozier, Nick Mulvey, Willy Mason and Benjamin Francis Leftwich.
Sam’s powerful self-released debut single Play God is produced by his mate Bramwell Bronte and mixed by Barny Barnicott (Arctic Monkeys). This introduction to Sam is only a glimpse into his vast catalogue of emotive and poignant songs that demonstrate a uniquely affectionate collision of the euphoric and heartbreaking.
The accompanying video is directed by Richard Stewart (Metronomy, Coldplay), choreographed by Holly Blakey (Florence & The Machine, Young Fathers) and starring multi award winning director David Wilson (Arcade Fire, Tame Impala). Sam is on a mission to become the breakthrough artist of 2017.
