All ABOUT HALDERN POP
Be true, not better.
Respect for free time!
Once a year we turn the village soil, planting our dreams alongside those of others. We tend them through wind and weather, invite the blossoms into the village, and build relationships to discover and complement one another. With this certainty we develop our festival year after year, searching and making proposals, not closing doors. Learning to know one another takes practice.
»Haldern Pop is the best small festival in Europe.«
Martin Elbourne, Music Director Glastonbury

Elsewhere is not far from us.
Everyday life belongs to every day. It is not greedy; it asks to be lived, embraced and enjoyed, to be present. We open the bar for small occasions and modest rules. This place offers joy, flight, stillness and sweat, above all something different from home: room to imagine ourselves and each other. If one egg is bigger than the others, that is fine. It turns questions into certainties, brings fresh air into our village and makes the world accessible. Elsewhere is not far from us.
“It is ideal that we are between Paris and Berlin: there is always room for a stop in Haldern. You can go out in the evening, watch a band from Australia, chat with them a little, then go home without feeling you absolutely have to move to the city.” Stefan Reichmann

Listen. The silent revolution
The kitchen light is still on.
In the speed of these times, imagination is always one step ahead of certainty. Our trust grows from the end towards the beginning, belonging to the children, our future. We find in order to search. Attention needs a frame. Listening. The quiet revolution. We like Beuys, the Beatles and surprises: a broad field with many connections.

The future is small.
You can buy what we know and do here. When cherished things fall out of time, we build museums, create spaces free from the demands of performance that soothe our spirits, where the reward reveals itself as a melody. We exchange parts of ourselves so we do not become interchangeable. A small travel agency with lush vegetation and many moods.

Walk, see, hum...
Here we do not watch the clock or calculate what is expected of a festival. Here we flow uphill and delight in the unusual. We listen and feel twice as attentively, digging through cultural sediment for melodies and vivid colours. We will not surrender this troubled world to fear. Kaltern is comfort, perhaps hope, on its way to becoming confidence. A spirited swing into the next step.
“Nobody knows who is to blame for these three days being so moving.” Stefan Reichmann
