Indie rock from London
After a period of upheaval in late 2024, The Howlers began a new chapter: frontman Adam Young reformed the band as a duo with drummer Toby Richards. The move fundamentally changed both their sound and creative direction, giving the band renewed clarity and identity.
This fresh start followed a breakthrough year. Their independently released debut album, “What You’ve Got To Lose To Win It All”, was acclaimed across Europe and reached the Top 10 of the UK Independent Breakers Chart, alongside several placements in the independent, vinyl and physical sales charts. The Howlers received support from BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, Radio X and Absolute Radio, as well as international playlist placements on Apple Music and Spotify.
The success continued on stage: a completely sold-out, 18-date UK headline tour established the band as one of Britain’s most exciting live acts. A European tour followed, with sold-out shows in eight countries, where they tested new material that would eventually lay the foundations for “Heavy”.
While the debut album was strongly shaped by grief and personal loss, “Heavy” emerges from a very different emotional place. The album moves between desire and consequence, loss of control and reality, driven by the allure of the night, impulsive decisions and the sobering clarity that follows.
For a band that has always made honesty its calling card and built an exceptionally loyal fanbase through it, “Heavy” feels like the very album The Howlers have been working towards all along.
With an extensive UK and European headline tour to follow, 2026 could finally be the year the band achieves its breakthrough on a wider scale.
