Kutsche

/StR

Carriage

My last memory with a carriage in everyday life, no wedding, trip or other romantic stuff, was an old farmer at the gas station checking the tire pressure. 1 cold PS was waiting frugally next to the cars. This pair was on the road in the village from time to time, there was a lot to do, no folklore. It was green and a one-axle vehicle. You can find iron rings still anchored in the masonry of the older houses here and there, silent witnesses of a different normality, here horses, carriages and other idiosyncratic creatures were tied up to go shopping and get things done, in the village. When one thinks of carriages, one likes to think of fairy tales, muggings and departures into a new life. In our case, these were mainly agricultural transports and errands in the village that had to be done. Many a “country trip” is said to have ended up in a ditch or fallen victim to a group of scoundrels, which makes your mind vibrate with mystery. All in all, carriages were the mobile standard of the technical development of their time, to transport, to travel, to move diligently and elegantly from the present into the future. /StR
