Dr. Armin Wuggert
Als Armin erstmalig, an der Seite von Anna, das Gut der Rheinstein betrat, war er sichtlich beeindruckt und kleiner als sonst. Wuchtig und stilvoll, das war zu erwarten, freundlich die Menschen, die dieses Haus mit Leben füllten, eine Überraschung. Er brauchte Argumente, wieder größer zu werden, dass sein Zuhause im Weserbergland auch von Eleganz zu erzählen wußte, vielleicht hilft es ja, dass die von Wittgenstein seinen Vater bei baulichen Sanierungen ihres Schlosses immer um Rat und Tat baten. Zu spät, er hatte seinen Hosenstall offen.
Diese Geschichte sollte noch oft in vertrauter Runde zum Besten gegeben werden, sowie die mit dem gelben Postauto, dass er im Hof übersah. Es sind die kleinen Schwächen, mit denen wir uns zuerst anfreunden. Dem Vater von Armin war diese Welt der Wittgensteins ewig fremd, nicht seinesgleichen, zu weit weg von Tun und Fleiß. Armins Mutter konnte aus der Distanz gut damit leben, es war gut für das Geschäft. Bunt und unterhaltsam, diese provinzfürstlichen Eskapaden waren niemals gefährlich.
Was ihm bei Anna schon immer sehr gefiel, war ihr Interesse für das Schöne, das Versteckte im Anderen, sie konnte geduldig suchen, ob in Museen oder bei Menschen, bis sie fand. Passenderweise stellte er Anna seinen Eltern zu Ostern vor, es gab edle Marzipan Eier von Niederegger und herzliche Sympathien seiner Eltern, das Ganze ging gut, sie hatten ja auch nur den Armin.
Für ihr jetziges Leben könnte es keinen besseren Ort, als dieses Dorf geben, beschaulich, übersichtlich und das Wesentliche unverrückbar. Armins heimliche Leidenschaft gilt dem Vergangenen, dem Heimatverein. In der Gegenwart ist er Arzt und beim Stammtisch reden sie über die Zukunft und leichtverdaulich Alltägliches. An diesem Tisch sitzt fast jede Meinung einer dörflichen Fraktion, vom Nehmer zum Geber, vom Spaßvogel bis zum Skeptiker, ein durchaus streitbares Spektrum.
Was er mit nach Hause bringt, wird von Anna seziert und abgeglichen, vieles konnte sie sich denken, am liebsten sind ihr die Überraschungen. /StR

When Armin entered the Rheinstein estate for the first time, at Anna’s side, he was visibly impressed and smaller than usual. Powerful and stylish, that was to be expected, friendly people who filled this house with life, a surprise. He needed arguments to become bigger again, that his home in the Weserbergland also knew how to tell about elegance, maybe it helps that the von Wittgenstein’s always asked his father for advice and help with structural renovations of their castle. Too late, he had his fly open.
This story was to be told often in familiar company, as well as the one about the yellow post bus that he overlooked in the courtyard. It is the little weaknesses that we first make friends with. For Armin’s father, this world of the Wittgensteins was eternally strange, not his own, too far away from action and diligence. Armin’s mother could live with it well from a distance, it was good for business. Colourful and entertaining, these provincial princely escapades were never dangerous.
What he always liked very much about Anna was her interest in the beautiful, the hidden in others, she could patiently search, whether in museums or with people, until she found. Appropriately, he introduced Anna to his parents at Easter, there were fine marzipan eggs from Niederegger and warm sympathies from his parents, the whole thing went well, they only had Armin.
For her present life, there could be no better place than this village, tranquil, clear and the essentials immovable. Armin’s secret passion is for the past, the Heimatverein. In the present he is a doctor and at the regulars’ table they talk about the future and easily digestible everyday things. At this table almost every opinion of a village faction sits, from the taker to the giver, from the joker to the skeptic, a quite disputable spectrum.
What he brings home is dissected and compared by Anna, she could imagine many things, but she prefers the surprises. /StR
