Gestern trifft Morgen – und das heute zuhause
Liebe Haldern Pop Freundinnen und Freunde,
liebe Ticketbesitzerinnen und Ticketbesitzer,

„Wenn einem etwas fehlt, muss etwas Besonderes da gewesen sein.“

Bewegend, was dieses Video zur Festival-Absage in uns auslöst. Unsere Erinnerungen erfüllen die Orte mit einer tief wirkenden Gemeinsamkeit. Der einfache Hocker steht für soviel mehr, er verbindet uns alle und jeden, wirkt belastbar und stabil genug, der jetzigen Herausforderung zu trotzen. Diese Melancholie trägt eine Dankbarkeit, Dringlichkeit und Zuversicht in sich, an die wir „einfach“ glauben wollen.

Zu unserer Situation:
Haldern Pop ist und war für uns immer eine verspielte Herzenssache und ein dorfwirtschaftliches Abenteuer. Ein rein ökonomisch basiertes Geschäftsmodell hätte uns wohl längst in etwas anderes verwandelt. Die Unabhängigkeit war und ist ein Experiment, niemals selbstverständlich aber hoffentlich schützenswert.

Faktisch ist es so, dass wir gerade hauptsächlich Geld aus dem Ticketverkauf auf dem Konto haben. Jedoch handelt es sich bei diesem Geld um Euer Geld, welches Ihr uns momentan einfach leiht. Genau darum geht es bei der vielerorts genannten “Gutschein-Lösung”. Wir haben für uns beschlossen, dass diese Art, Probleme einfach in die Zukunft zu verlagern, nicht unser Weg sein kann & soll. Zumal wir jetzt noch gar nicht wissen, welche Konsequenzen und Auflagen diese Pandemie noch nach sich ziehen wird.

Deswegen haben wir uns für eine Rückabwicklung der Ticketgelder entschieden, um dann ungeschönt sehen zu können, wo wir finanziell stehen. Dafür würden wir Euch bitten, bis zum 15. Juni 2020, das Online-Formular mit den entsprechenden Optionen auszufüllen, bitte auch bei einer “Ticketspende” (keine Spende, die steuerlich geltend gemacht werden kann). Wir brauchen diesen Stichtag, um eine Planungssicherheit für alle weiteren Schritte zu erlangen.

Dabei möchte ich ganz ehrlich sein. Ein jeder kann sich vorstellen, dass das Haldern Pop Festival ein Ganzjahres-Projekt, mit entsprechendem Kostenaufwand ist. Zusätzlich herrscht gerade absolute Ungewissheit, ab wann wir überhaupt wieder an die Planung eines neuen Festivals denken können. Dies beides zusammen werden wir ohne fremde Hilfe nicht stemmen können.

Wir haben intern durchaus kontrovers darüber diskutiert, ob wir unsere bedenkliche Situation überhaupt so klar nach Außen kommunizieren sollen. Wir sind dann aber final zu der Entscheidung gekommen, dies so zu tun, da wir denken, dass unser Publikum auch das Recht hat, zu erfahren, wie es um uns steht. Diesen Graben zwischen Publikum, Künstlern und Machern… den hat und sollte es so nie geben auf dem Haldern Pop.

Es gibt von unserer Seite kein Erwarten und kein Fordern. Wir wollen nicht Eure Sorgen verdoppeln, um unsere zu halbieren. Aber Spenden mit einem guten Gefühl sind willkommen und überlebenswichtig für uns.

Deshalb bieten wir die Rückgabe oder Spende/Teilspende der bereits gekauften Tickets an.

Wer kein Ticket hat, das Haldern Pop aber trotzdem unterstützen möchte, hat dazu die Möglichkeit mit dem “Zuhause-Ticket”.

Es ist nicht so, dass wir derzeitig nichts wissen, die Erfahrungen mit dieser Pandemie sind dennoch gering und das Hoffen und Glauben bekommt wieder eine größere Bedeutung. Wie müssen wieder das eine lernen, um an das andere zu gelangen. Es braucht Ideen, Leidenschaft und Vertrauen. Weiter gehts.

yesterday and tomorrow get together – in a place called today at home

Dear friends of Haldern Pop,
dear ticket holders,

“If you’re missing something, it must have been something special.”

The festival cancellation video leaves us in bits. Places filled with our memories, bound by a deep sense of togetherness. A simple stool means so much more, it connects us all, sturdy enough to take our weight, resolute enough to face the challenges of the moment. This melancholic air is laced with gratitude, urgency and optimism. This is what we want to believe in, nice and simple.

Our situation:
Haldern Pop is and always has been a playful affair of the heart, a village economy adventure. A purely financial model would undoubtedly have taken us down a different path, sooner or later. Independence was and is an experiment, never to be taken for granted, always to be upheld, we hope.

The fact of the matter is: most of the money in our bank account has come from ticket sales. But this money is actually your money, which you have lent to us for the time being. That’s the “voucher” solution one hears so much about. We have decided, however, not to shift this problem into the future. That’s not how we do things. None of us can say with any certainty right now just how this pandemic will pan out.

So we have taken the decision to return the money you sent to us for tickets. Then we will have a clear and accurate picture of our financial situation. Therefore we would ask you to fill out the online form with the appropriate options by 15th June 2020, these include ticket donations (no donation that can be claimed for tax purposes). We need to set this time limit in order to be in a position to plan the next steps.

To be completely honest with you: Haldern Pop Festival is a full-time project, as I’m sure you can imagine. The process continues all year around and generates costs accordingly. What’s more, we really don’t know when we can move ahead with planning a new festival. Keeping these activities going is not realistic unless we have outside help.

We have had animated internal discussions with regard to laying our cards so plainly on the table for all to see. But we have come to the conclusion that it is only fair and reasonable to present the critical nature of situation to our audience. You have a right to know and in any case, Haldern Pop has never been drawn a dividing line between the crowd, the musicians, the festival crew or indeed anyone involved.

We come with no expectations, no demands. We don’t intend to double your troubles in order to halve our own. But giving with the right spirit is a welcome act and could potentially ensure our survival.

So. We present to you the following choices: Return, donate or partially donate your ticket(s).

If you don’t have a ticket but would like to support Haldern Pop, you can do this with the “Home-Ticket” (Zuhause-Ticket)

It is not that we do not know anything at the moment, but nevertheless, the experience with this pandemic is small and hope and faith are becoming more important again. We have to learn one thing in order to gain the other. It takes ideas, passion and trust. Onwards and upwards!
